Growing Instructions
Growing Instructions
π€οΈ Light
Provide full sun to very bright indirect light. At least 4β6 hours of direct sun daily is ideal for strong growth and flowering. Indoors, place it near a south or west-facing window βοΈ
π§ Watering
- Water when the top 2β3 inches of soil feel dry
- Water deeply, then allow excess to drain
- Keep soil evenly moist during active growth, but not soggy β οΈ
- Reduce watering in cooler months
π± Soil
Use a rich, well-draining mix. A blend of potting soil, compost, and perlite or sand works well.
πΏ Fertilizing
Feed every 1-2 months using a liquid balanced fertilizer.
πͺ΄ Repotting
Repot every 1β2 years or when root-bound. It blooms better when slightly pot-bound but still needs fresh soil periodically.
βοΈ Pruning
Remove dead or damaged leaves at the base. You can also thin older clumps to improve airflow.
π§Ό Leaf care
Wipe large leaves occasionally to remove dust and improve light absorption β¨
π¨ Common issues
- No flowers β not enough light (most common cause)
- Brown leaf edges β low humidity or inconsistent watering
- Yellow leaves β overwatering
- Split leaves β normal in wind or age
π‘ Bonus tips
- Flowering usually happens only in mature plants (3β5+ years old)
- It needs strong light and some root restriction to bloom well
- Outdoors in warm climates, it performs much better than indoors π΄
